Company Description
Fastned builds and operates a growing network of fast-charging stations for electric vehicles across Europe. When EV drivers need to quickly recharge on a road trip or commute, Fastned's distinctive yellow-roofed stations provide high-power charging using 100% renewable energy from the sun and wind. The company's stations are strategically located along highways and in urban areas across nine countries: the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Switzerland, the UK, Italy, Spain, and Denmark. Each station features multiple fast chargers that can add hundreds of kilometers of range in just 15-20 minutes. As of early 2026, Fastned operates over 400 stations and delivered record revenues of €38.1 million in Q4 2025 alone—up 44% year-over-year. Founded in 2012 by Michiel Langezaal and Bart Lubbers (son of former Dutch Prime Minister Ruud Lubbers), Fastned was among the first companies to bet big on public fast-charging infrastructure. The company went public on Euronext Amsterdam and became a certified B Corp, reflecting its commitment to sustainability. Headquartered in Amsterdam with approximately 400 employees across eight European countries, Fastned is led by co-founder and CEO Michiel Langezaal, who was elected president of ChargeUp Europe, the European EV charging industry association, in 2025. The company aims to operate 1,000 stations by 2030, positioning itself as a key infrastructure provider for Europe's transition to electric mobility.
